Product Information
Nitrogen oxides (NOx) are a group of highly reactive and toxic gases that are closely monitored by regulatory agencies worldwide due to their environmental and health impacts. These gases are formed by the chemical reaction between nitrogen and oxygen during high-temperature combustion processes. The primary sources of NOx emissions are the burning of fossil fuels in vehicles, power plants, and industrial operations.
NOx often appears as a brownish gas and contributes to the formation of ground-level ozone and smog, which both have detrimental effects on air quality and human health. Additionally, NOx plays a significant role in the formation of acid rain, which can damage ecosystems, soil, and water bodies.

The module reports NOₓ; it should not be described as providing independently speciated NO and NO₂ channels.
Performance & Field Data
Automatic baseline correction and an ozone scrubber help control baseline drift and ozone interference. The module compares baseline and sample measurements to calculate NOₓ concentrations approximately once per minute.
Performance depends on the monitoring configuration, calibration, site conditions and measurement objectives.
Typical Applications
- Traffic-related air monitoring
- Industrial combustion assessments
- Power facility perimeter monitoring
- Ambient pollution research
