ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THE SIERRA WIRELESS AIRLINK RAVEN RV50
The RV50 features a durable and rugged design for challenging environments. Sierra Wireless crafted this outstanding cellular modem to withstand the harshest industrial conditions. It has been built to survive unexpected 5 V brownouts or electrical spikes ranging from -600 VDC to 200 VDC.
The Sierra Wireless Airlink Raven has been certified as Class I Div 2 making it ideal for hazardous environments. The die cast aluminum external housing is specially sealed to meet the strict IP64 standards for resistance to dust and water ingress.
The RV50 modem has also been tested to meet and exceed the strict MIL-STD-810G specifications for vibration, temperature, shock and humidity.
The Raven RV50 features built-in power supply protection which makes it ideal when you need to place it in harsh electrical environments such as near power generators, excavators or air compressors.
The industrial-grade Sierra Airlink RV50 touts ultra-low power consumption along with best-in-class power consumption combined with LTE performance.
This cellular modem is also optimized for battery and solar applications making it ideal for use in industrial-grade applications in for energy conservation initiatives, smart-city infrastructure and utilities using modems on a large scale.
With support for network operator switching—automatic configuration of the radio, based on the SIM—the RV50 provides versatility and simplicity when changing between network operators at any time.
The Airlink Raven RV50 is the industry’s only LTE gateway featuring 2G power consumption, while operating at 900 mW in idle mode. For migrations to LTE from 2G and 3G environments, the Sierra Wireless RV50 will work with the underlying pre-existing power infrastructure. This can reduce your investment as there is no need to purchase additional solar panels or external batteries.
Also, the Sierra Wireless Raven RV50 features a standby mode that can provide extra protection for batteries by dropping the required power consumption to 53 mW, and can be triggered low voltage detection, system timers or I/O.
When working in a global deployment environment, the Sierra Wireless Airlink RV50X provides two product variants; and one for Asia-Pacific and one for North America and EMEA, which ensures worldwide LTE coverage.
AIRLINK RV50/RV50X: INDUSTRIAL LTE GATEWAY
When searching for LTE Advanced capabilities choose the AirLink® RV50X which supports an extensive range of LTE bands worldwide, including Band 28 and Band 12. It also delivers up to 300 Mbps downlink speeds.
The Airlink RV50X also features LTE-Advanced performance at 2G power consumption and uses less than 1 watt. It is the number one choice for solar-powered applications and offers a rugged, industrial grade form factor.
You can also enable edge computing applications with the ALEOS Application Framework (AAF) so you are sure to have the best remote, secure network management in the cloud or in the enterprise for your business.
